Why Register Your Agency?

Why register?

By registering your agency, volunteer needs are automatically sent out to our volunteer database every two weeks. Volunteers will see where you need help whether it’s a one-time event or an on-going opportunity.

People WANT to help; they just don’t always know WHERE the help is needed. By registering your agency, you’re guaranteeing that people are seeing your needs on an on-going basis.

Communication Updates

The Volunteer Center uses the Agency registration database to make agencies aware of upcoming volunteer management trainings, Volunteer Guide printing deadlines and numerous other “volunteer related” topics.

The Volunteer Center is the only place in Door County where all non-profit agencies can come to register their volunteer needs.

What We Provide

When you register your agency and your volunteer opportunities, the Volunteer Center begins the work of marketing those opportunities to the community. Here’s where your opportunities will be seen!

Our Volunteer Database. Volunteer opportunities are sent out every two weeks to our database of over 750 volunteers. Opportunities are randomly selected based upon the volunteer’s preferences.

Social Media. The Volunteer Center posts volunteer needs on both our Facebook and Twitter pages. This is a great way to get the word out to the demographic that loves instant updates! If you use social media and we promote your needs as well, you’re getting double the exposure!

Radio and Newspaper. The Volunteer Center records “The Volunteer Center Connection” each week on FM106.9 The Lodge which features four to five different volunteer opportunities. This plays Monday-Friday at 3:50 pm. These opportunities are also listed in the Wednesday edition of the Door County Advocate in our “Volunteer Center Connection” column. “Volunteer Voices” is a monthly article in the Peninsula Pulse that features a volunteer or group of volunteers within an agency, telling their story of “why” they volunteer and “what they get” out of their volunteering experience.

It’s FREE!

The Volunteer Center provides the only centralized recruitment and referral of volunteers in Door County and there’s NO COST to you or your agency! Register now and allow us to market your volunteer opportunities to our community.
