Car parking attendant

Consider this your official invitation to join the team of Ushers and Parking Attendants for the 2018 Peninsula Music Festival. Beginning August 7th, a season of amazing concerts by a professional symphony orchestra is held at the Door Community Auditorium. Ushers and Parking Attendants get to enjoy a great concert once their work is done, so please consider this enjoyable volunteer opportunity! Docent Tour Guide

During summer and fall weekends, docents lead visitors on narrated walking tours of The Clearing's 128 acres, 82 year history, the native landscape, and founder Jens Jensen who was a renowned landscape architect and land conservationist. Training materials are provided to enhance the volunteers' knowledge of The Clearing. Volunteers must physically be able to conduct the two hour hike.

Event setup and teardown

Midsummer's Music holds concerts at various venues across Door County during the summer Festival, as well as at other times during the year. At most venues, seats need to be arranged properly for a chamber music concert, usually about 90 minutes prior to the beginning of the concert. Working under the direction of Midsummer's Music staff, volunteers will move chairs (and sometimes a piano) to maximize Volunteers need to be able to lift at least 40 pounds and follow directions. They need to arrive on time and remain until the chairs have been returned to their proper place. Be prepared to change from working clothes to concert attire (nothing fancy is necessary).

Share Life Affirming Humor with Hospice Patients Aseracare Hospice is seeking a trained clown to provide life affirming humor to patients and families. Humor helps people see more than just tragedy in stressful times. It gives us a break from the intensity of grief. While the silly clowns with brightly colored clothes and magic tricks make people smile, it takes something more to be a hospice clown. H KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS ? Concert Reception Hosts

Midsummer's Music concerts are typically followed by a reception where the audience members can mingle with the musicians over delicious food and usually wine. Concert reception hosts are responsible for ensuring a successful reception by providing an array of food and beverages. Midsummer's Music can assist in providing wine and beer. In exchange for hosting, hosts receive complimentary tickets to tha There are no training requirements. Food should include savory and sweet items, and it should be appropriate to a chamber music concert. Stay away from things like chips and dips, and explore some more refined treats ... from nice cheese and crackers to finger sandwiches. Feel free to be as elaborate as you'd like. Hosts typically provide plates, cups, utensils, napkins, etc.

Ticket Sales and Ushers

Rogue Theater is looking for individuals to assist with our ticket sales and ushering during an upcoming performances. Individuals will sell admission tickets, hand out programs, and assist with seating of patrons. Volunteers are then able to watch the performance for free. Afterwards, volunteers will check the theater area for any and pick up any garbage or left programs. First time volunteers would be scheduled to arrive early to go over procedures. Those selling tickets will need to handle money and able to run credit card sales. Events vary, but for most 2-4 volunteers are needed at each performance.

Become a Door Shakespeare Bard Buddy

Bard Buddies are Door Shakespeare's volunteers who assist with parking cars, greeting patrons, ushering, and selling concessions at evening performances in the beautiful Garden at Bjorklunden in Baileys Harbor. Performances run nightly Monday through Saturday and begin on June 29th. The summer season closes on August 19th. This is a great opportunity to give patrons a positive experience at the theater Anyone interested in volunteering should call Door Shakespeare's Baileys Harbor office at (920)839-1500. Your name will be forwarded to the volunteer coordinator who will contact you by email to see what your interests are.

Calling all youth ages 13 to 15! This is a great opportunity to attend great trainings, gain invaluable life experience, and earn free membership to our Teen Center. If you are considering a career with children, need volunteer hours to complete high school, or just like kids, this program will be a wonderful addition to your schedule. The Volunteer Center of Door County celebrated the 13th Annual Golden Heart Volunteer Celebration “Follow Your Heart.” on Thursday, April 23. Guests celebrated at the Stone Harbor Ballroom honoring the incredible work of Door County volunteers and the agencies they serve.

Bret Bicoy, President and CEO of the Door County Community Foundation, provided the keynote address. He described how giving of one’s’ self is central to building a stronger Door County and a happier life. Nick Freimuth served as the Master of Ceremonies. Each nominee received a complimentary dinner and a crystal sun catcher created by Grace Rossman and Tara Niko Rossman.

2014 Golden Heart Recipients

Tickets are now available for the 13th annual Golden Heart Volunteer Celebration to be held on Thursday evening, April 23 at Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay. Billed as the “feel good event of the year”, this event honors outstanding volunteers in our community, recognizes the importance of the organizations through which they work and supports the Volunteer Center’s programming.
